Robac offers a range of rubber chemicals, for instance, dithiocarbamates, thiurams, thioureas and xanthates for use as ultra/secondary rubber accelerators and protective antioxidants. These are available in powder, liquid; oil treated and pre-dispersed polymer bound forms (The PM Range). The PM range is complemented by a full range of primary accelerators in EPDM and NBR binders.
Rubber additives, specifically designed for natural and synthetic latex use can be offered as aqueous dispersions or emulsions.
We also offer a series of products for traditional markets, including technical rubber, latex and polymer goods for the automotive industry, medical goods, consumer and general rubber goods industries. These products utilise the major dry rubber polymers: NR, SBR, EPDM, CR, CSPE, NBR, HNBR plus speciality polymers including XNBR and ECO. Increasingly, international companies are embracing sustainability issues. RBL and Robac are particularly well placed to meet this opportunity, making significant investment in research and development, with the technical expertise and equipment to complement those of its customers.
Work has been carried out on lower temperature speciality cure systems requiring less energy and featuring enhanced physical properties, which could be used in the adhesive and tank lining industries.
Robac has also undertaken significant development of nickel and zinc based antioxidants and UV stabilisers to increase the temperature resistance of EPDM and use in ECO rubbers, leading to thinner, lighter hoses with improved physical properties.
Robacís range of speciality chemicals include polymer chemicals such as aqueous dithiocarbamates, xanthates, UV and thermal stabilisers and novel, low odour thiols for chain transfer and chain stopper applications in plastics and polymers.
In addition, Robac has developed Metone Technology for the accelerated and controlled degradation of polyolefin polymers, such as those used in packaging, agricultural mulch films and greenhouse covers.
