Natural Rubber (NR) and Synthetic Polymers such as XNBR are widely used in the manufacture of medical devices and personal protective equipment such as baby teats, soothers, condoms and toys such as balloons. Historically they utilise thiazoles, dithiocarbamates and thiurams as vulcanising accelerators. All such materials are available from the Robac range.

AS100 has proved particularly successful in the Natural Rubber baby teat and soother markets. Similar opportunities for growth exist in any body contact rubber products, including NR surgeon’s gloves, personal protective equipment, condoms, catheters, mattresses, medical sheeting and tubing.

Arbestab Z and SAA30 can be used to manufacture articles with reduced levels of N-nitrosamines and potential chemical allergens, while maintaining or improving physical properties of the vulcanisates.
